Tiger Mountain Lodge

Time to head out of the hills and into Pokhara for a day of recovery at the Tiger Mountain Lodge.

My last time with Bidur and Sujan.

You will have trust me that Sujan has a bright, happy smile.

The end to an amazing experience.
I can't believe I went trekking in Nepal. OMG!

But I already have a future one in another part of Nepal on my dream list

The drive is about 1 hour, at the most.  We drop Sujan off in Pokhara becuase he is heading into Kathmandu to be with his sister for the holiday.

Bidur rides along with me all the way to Tiger Mountain.

The lodge is set up on a hill overlooking the Pokhara Valley.

.  The views are wonderful and the natural setting is tranquil.

I love the orange and purple together.

The main lodge is charming and rustic.  They pride themselves on being environtmentally conscious and fitting in the natural environment.

That is Fishtail Mountain you see straight through the door.

Before going to my room they offer me tea, and what I discover is THE BEST Carrot Cake ever!

They take me to my room ... wowza.

This ain't no trekking lodge.  😄

First time ever staying somewhere with an Earthquake Alarm 😏

I was so hoping for a massage to combat those oh-so-tight calves and quads.  But darn it, no massage therapist is available since today is the final and biggest day of Tihar – Bhai Tika.  The day to celebrate and honor brothers and sisters.  Most stores are closed, etc.

I am not upset, just disappointed, but I am (mostly) glad people get to spend the day with their families.  (I do go online and schedule a massage for the day I get back to the US). Imagine trying to schedule a massage on Thanksgiving.  That's what it's like.

Instead I enjoy the afternoon strolling the grounds, relaxing, eating a big Nepali lunch and napping ...

The grounds are so pleasant.  I kind of wish I had two days here.  They offer guided walks; birdwatching, etc.

Saw these Bluebells/Morning Glories all over the place in the hills.
LOVE them.  The color is staggering.

Bamboo is growing everywhere.

Look at the little critter on the flower ...

Looking down into the valley you can see the typical architectural style.

The sunsets and it's time for a relaxing cup of tea - my Happy Hour.

Dinner is soon but they end up serving two different appetizers - avocado dip and chips AND then something I will call a deep fried Cabbage Ball.  YUMMY!!!
I polish off both of the appetizers and then tell them - no dinner for me.  THAT was my dinner!

I get back to my room to find the bed turned down; the netting draped around the bed and this little treat on the end table.

A delightful surprise - all of it.

Ganesh is VERY popular.

Two more days ... I can't believe the trip is almost over.

    1. It was perfect. I still have 2 days left in Kathmandu. But this was the perfect place to unwind from trekking. Next up - a bit more sightseeing and then pottery-making and Momo-making :)
