Heaven on Earth
Or should I say “Heaven at 35,000 ft in the air”
Warning: This post contains images and descriptions of exclusivity and privilege. 🤣😜
If you are still reading, please know I am not a “fancy” flyer. On long flights Economy Plus at best but never first class.
Let’s just say I have been forever ruined by the Qsuite on Qatar Airways. (Sorry, honey LOL)
The journey to Nepal from the Sarasota area is a long one - 3 flights with a 34-hour travel time including the layovers (not to mention the 1-hour drive to Tampa International and then the 2-hour wait before boarding the first flight.)
I know me. If I arrived in Kathmandu – a city and culture completely different from what I am accustomed - exhausted from lack of a decent night’s sleep and achy from the contortionist moves trying to get comfortable on the plane, I would be even more overwhelmed and emotionally drained starting the trip.
This trip is too big to not start on the right foot, so Qsuite it was.
Holy wowza!!!
I knew it would be nice (I even knew it would be really nice) but I had no idea it would A.MA.ZING!
So yes, it is literally a suite - my own little world high in the sky.
With a door that closes …
With a seat that’s best described as a recliner that moves in every which way, and even fully transforms into a bed …
With a table that folds out directly in front of me (not your ordinary “seat tray”) …
With a spacious compartment next to me to store my personal items (in addition to the normal overhead space) that can be raised or lowered to use an arm rest of sorts …
With highly personalized and attentive customer service by flights attendants who are impeccably dressed and oh-so-professional …
With food that was over the top delicious!!! (And I am such a “commoner” that I unknowingly and unashamedly ate every bit of the appetizer not knowing it was the appetizer 🤣 so then I was too full for the main course. (But for the record, it was so delicious I would do it again)
With an electronics station that houses multiple USB ports, electrical outlets, HDMI receptor, etc. and has a surface on top that acts as another permanent table ...
With a “bespoke” (Pardon me while I gag. I absolutely loathe that most pretentious of all words, but I couldn’t resist – LOL ) collection of gender-specific toiletries from a parfumeur in Paris, Diptyque …
With multiple pillows and a super comfy, perfect-weight blanket …
With a large TV for movies, TV, flight Map, etc...
I think the thing that tickled me the most ... wait for it ... loungewear and slippers given to each person, and might I add "comfy" loungewear?!?!
The almost-14 hours went by in the blink of an eye. (I have been on 3 hour flights that felt longer. I am NOT joking.)
Want the best testimonial to how relaxed I was and how well I slept???
Here I am in the morning after freshening up in the spacious lavatory
and getting back into my street clothes.
PS I am not getting paid for this testimonial 😜
Wow it looks like the trip is off to a great start. You look so comfy in your lounge wear and so pretty the next morning. Love following your journey and reading all about it. Have a great time and be safe friend! Love, Lisa xo

ReplyDeleteJodi, I thought the same thing. I was like, “ you could pay to take a flight and the flight IS the vacation.” Getting waited on, relaxing, reading,” 🤣❤️🤗
